Hang Out At Service Sundays with Food on Foot

Food on Foot is a nonprofit dedicated to assisting our unhoused and low-income neighbors in Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and a fresh start through life-skills training, full-time employment, and permanent housing. They work out of their Hollywood HQ to give out food, build community with those in their jobs and housing programs, and raise spirits of those in tough situations. Being a volunteer at one of their service sundays is not only an incredible help, but its also fanstastically fun! Kids 6 and up are welcome to come, and children 12 and under must have a chaperone. GrowGood works with the Salvation Army Bell Shelter to provide residents and community memebers access to nutritious and clean foods by tending to an organic community garden. Their garden-based programing uses healthy food as a way to help people heal through learning new skills, eating healthy food, and getting work expierence. Volunteer and work at the GrowGood farm! Masks required. Also bring a hat, sunscreen, water bottle, gloves and hand tools if you have them. Children 12 and over are welcome accompanied by an adult. Pack Food Bags for Low Income Kids with Giving Children Hope

Volunteer on Fridays with Giving Children Hope! They distribute food to roughly 300 families from their We've Got Your Back program. This means they have been identified by school partners as having risk factors such as housing insecurity, food insecurity, and or lack of employment. At the distribution, you will load boxes of produce, meat, dairy, and more into the vehicles. They need volunteers to help prep bags and load them into the cars. Since 1975, the Foodbank of Southern California has been working to end hunger, one meal at a time, They focus on the "poorest of the poor" making sure those with little to no resources are at the very least, fed. Food Finders has a simple mission with massive impact: Reduce food waste by rescuing otherwise thrown away items, and redirect them to people and places that need it. They work all over Los Angeles to redistribute food, eliminate food waste, and provide access to nutritionally sound food for people who need. Volunteer with the Foothill Family Shelter

The Foothill Family Shelter is ready and eager to meet new volunteers! They house unhoused families with children for up to 4 months, with the possibility for extension and 1 year transitional housing depending on the case. They always need help though, and volunteers can help with: sorting donations, stocking shelves in the food pantry, serving walk-in clients and providing resources to walk-in clients. Meal Prep for Community Dinner with the Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition

Meal prep for the West Hollywood Food Coalition's community dinner! They host it every night, so any day you wanna spend a little time in the kitchen, feel free to volunteer with them! With COVID restrictions, they are only able to have a few people in the kitchen at a time. They require everyone to wear a mask, gloves, and disposable aprons, as well as some form of head covering which is required by the Dept. of Health for any kitchen work.
